KeHE’s CAREtrade™ to Launch

As part of KeHE’s core value: “We serve to make lives better™” we are launching a new initiative to identify and promote a set of brands that advance a higher purpose that goes beyond commercial success.

Each CAREtrade member has a unique business approach that combines successful sales with making the world a better place.

Please join us in welcoming our inaugural members:

Divine Chocolate
Divine Chocolate
Divine Chocolate is co-owned by the 85,000 farmer members of Kuapa Kokoo, the cooperative in Ghana that supplies the cocoa for each bar of Divine. As owners, they get a share in the profits, a say in the company, and a voice in the global marketplace.

Growers Alliance Coffee
Born in Kenya, co-founder Martin Kabaki realized Americans’ love of coffee and set out to bring good Kenyan coffee to the United States while also helping people in his homeland bring positive change for coffee farmers.

Kuli Kuli
Founder Lisa Curtis was a Peace Corps volunteer when she discovered the nutritious leaves of the moringa tree in West Africa. She started the company with a vision to work with women-led farming cooperatives all over the world to drive economic growth, women’s empowerment and sustainable agricultural development. By rejuvenating moringa as a tool for nutritional security, Kuli hopes a new generation will imagine a world without hunger.

Sunshine Nut
The Sunshine Approach is focused on creating a value driven business – where dignity, love, and community come together with excellence. Their business model is built on the transformation of smallholder farmers through premium products. The premise is that packaged natural foods can leverage improvement at all levels of the value chain.

Women’s Bean Project
Women’s Bean Project (WBP) is a transitional job training program for chronically unemployed and impoverished women. The mission of WBP is to change women’s lives by providing stepping stones to self-sufficiency through social enterprise. WBP provides jobs in gourmet food and handmade jewelry manufacturing. At the same time, they augment the skills they develop on the job by offering special programming and classes in interpersonal and life skills needed to move into employment.
