Q: What is your current position, and which KeHE location do you work at?
A: I am a Transportation Coordinator at DC16.
Q: How long have you been with KeHE, and what inspired you to join the company? What was your first impression?
A: I have been with the company for 35 years and joined the KeHE family through the acquisition of Tree of Life in 2010.
One of the first things that impressed me about KeHE was the company culture and the many programs that support people and communities. KeHE Cares is a shining example of the meaningful impact the organization has made around the world. It was clear to me that KeHE is a company that truly cares about giving back and making a difference.
Q: How has your role evolved during your time at KeHE, and what lessons have you learned along the way?
A: Throughout my career, my role has largely focused on communication and building strong relationships with customers.
One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is that effective communication requires patience, clarity, and a willingness to listen. While those lessons may seem simple, they have been incredibly powerful throughout my career and have helped me build lasting relationships with customers, colleagues, and partners.
Q: Can you share a standout memory or experience at KeHE that holds special meaning for you?
A: One of my most meaningful experiences was receiving the DC16 Employee of the Year Award in 2019.
I felt both humbled and grateful to receive such an honor. Being recognized by my peers and leadership made the moment especially memorable and reinforced the pride I feel in being part of the KeHE team.
Q: What opportunities have helped you grow personally and professionally during your time at KeHE?
A: KeHE has provided me with tremendous opportunities for professional growth through my customer-facing role.
Over the years, I have worked closely with store personnel, store owners, delivery drivers, and customers. The relationships I’ve built and the connections I’ve made throughout my career are something I truly cherish. Those experiences have helped me grow professionally while also teaching me the value of trust, collaboration, and service.
Q: What changes at KeHE have made the biggest impact on you, your work, or the company culture?
A: One of the biggest changes during my career was the transition from local routing to centralized routing.
That shift significantly changed my role within transportation and provided new challenges that allowed me to expand my knowledge and develop new skills. It pushed me outside of my comfort zone and created opportunities for growth that continue to benefit me today.
Q: How have your colleagues and the KeHE community shaped your experience?
A: The people at KeHE have made all the difference in my experience.
The professionalism, mutual respect, and shared sense of purpose demonstrated by my colleagues have made my career both enjoyable and rewarding. I am grateful for the relationships I’ve built and for the opportunity to work alongside so many dedicated individuals who contribute to KeHE’s success every day.
