At KeHE®, we’re proud to recognize team members whose dedication, growth, and commitment continue to make a meaningful impact across our organization. This month, we’re excited to feature Veronica Montes, Pricing Coordinator based out of Elkton.

Over the past decade, Veronica has built a remarkable career at KeHE, advancing through multiple roles while embracing every opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute. Her journey reflects the power of perseverance, continuous development, and the meaningful relationships that help shape both personal and professional success.

Q: What is your current position, and which KeHE location do you work at?

A: I am a Pricing Coordinator based out of Elkton.

Q: How long have you been with KeHE, and what inspired you to join the company? What was your first impression?

A: I’ve been with KeHE for 10 years and 6 months, including my first four months as a contractor.

I was searching for an opportunity to work for a company where growth was encouraged, supported, and achievable, and KeHE seemed like the perfect fit. I started in Account Support as a contractor during the Safeway/Albertsons onboarding, which gave me the opportunity to experience the company firsthand.

One of the things that stood out to me immediately was the strong representation of women and minorities in leadership positions. That demonstrated KeHE’s commitment to diversity, opportunity, and employee development. Once I saw that, my decision to stay was easy.

Q: How has your role evolved during your time at KeHE, and what lessons have you learned along the way?

A: My career at KeHE began as an Account Support Representative, and I quickly progressed into Lead and then Account Support Coordinator roles. More recently, I transitioned into my current role as Pricing Coordinator, opening a new chapter in my professional journey.

Throughout the years, two lessons have remained constant. First, mistakes are a natural part of growth. As long as we learn from them, they become valuable opportunities for development. Second, success is never achieved alone. My growth has been made possible by leaders, colleagues, and mentors who invested their time, trust, and knowledge in me. I’ve learned that every accomplishment is the result of teamwork, collaboration, and the support of those around us.

Q: Can you share a standout memory or experience at KeHE that holds special meaning for you?

A: One of the most memorable experiences of my career was participating in the KeHE Summer Show in Salt Lake City in 2024.

The event gave me the opportunity to work alongside team members from departments across the company, meet our Safeway/Albertsons sales team, and support vendors exhibiting at the show. Seeing so many people come together to create a successful event reinforced how interconnected our work truly is. It reminded me that every role at KeHE contributes to the bigger picture and plays an important part in serving our customers and partners.

Q: What opportunities have helped you grow personally and professionally during your time at KeHE?

A: While I’ve had many opportunities to grow throughout my career, one experience stands above the rest. In the summer of 2025, I had the privilege of participating in KeHE’s Dreamer Life Coaching Program, with William Primm serving as my coach.

The program challenged me to pursue goals I had previously hesitated to pursue and encouraged me to step outside of my comfort zone. Through accountability, guidance, and self-reflection, I developed stronger personal and professional relationships, improved the way I navigate challenges, and gained the confidence to pursue new opportunities within the company.

It was truly a life-changing experience that continues to influence my growth today.

Q: What changes at KeHE have made the biggest impact on you, your work, or the company culture?

A: During my first ten years with the company, I experienced several organizational and leadership changes that encouraged me to reflect on where I could create the greatest impact.

As a result, I made the decision to transition into a department that better aligned with my strengths, work style, and long-term career goals. That decision has opened new opportunities for professional growth while also helping me achieve a healthier work-life balance.

The experience taught me the importance of remaining open to change and trusting that new opportunities can often lead to meaningful growth.

Q: How have your colleagues and the KeHE community shaped your experience?

A: Every colleague and leader I’ve worked with over the past decade has played a role in shaping my journey at KeHE. Whether those experiences were

positive or challenging, each one contributed to the person and professional I am today.

One individual who made a particularly meaningful impact is my former leader and friend, Denise Manns. Through her guidance and example, I learned the importance of patience, empathy, compassion, and active listening.

More broadly, the relationships I’ve built throughout the organization have taught me invaluable lessons that continue to influence both my personal life and professional career. I’m grateful for the support, encouragement, and opportunities I’ve received along the way.
